Student general practitioner The Hague

As a student in The Hague you can get care from one of three general practitioners (GP) for students: the StudentDoc, The Student Doctors and Shams. Why? Because the number of students in The Hague continues to grow. And as a student you sometimes have specific health questions. Before receiving care you will need to register with your personal details, a Dutch healthcare insurance and your citizen service number (BSN). Do you prefer a doctor near where you live? Then you can of course register with another general practitioner.

If you choose to register with a student GP, you can check out these options:

StudentDoc

The StudentDoc has two practices in the center of The Hague: the main location is on the Boomsluiterskade and there is a practice on the Stationsweg. In addition to general medical care, the practice pays special attention to questions concerning: staying healthy during student life | stress | birth control | STDs | quit smoking.

The Student Doctors

The general practitioner at The Student Doctors does things a little differently. You have direct contact with the general practitioner, there is no assistant. You can get a consult by telephone, via a video call or via the app. Want to come by? Then you can at Nieuwe Uitleg 29, The Hague.

General practice Shams

The two practices are located near station Hollands Spoor. Around 40% of the patients is student and about 80% of them are international students. In the first practice the doctor speaks Dutch, English and Russian. At the second practice there is a doctor of Chinese medicine too.

"Healthcare for students is an essential aspect of ensuring the physical and mental well-being of young individuals in academic settings. Our international psychologist provides various mental health resources, such as counselling services and support groups for students who may be experiencing stress or mental health conditions."
