Moving to The Hague and still looking for furniture for your student room?
On 15 September 2026, the Free Furniture Festival is coming to The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Students can pick up good-quality, reusable furniture and household items completely for free.

Time: 11.00-14.00
Location: The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Johanna Westerdijkplein
Furniture is available on a first come, first served basis, so make sure to come on time.
What to expect
At the festival, you can take home available furniture and reusable items for free. You can also borrow a shopping cart to help transport your items.
A limited moving service is available for €15.
Make sure to bring anything you may need to safely transport your furniture.
Want to help out and earn €100?
The organisation is also looking for 20 students to help during the festival with tasks such as lifting and assembly, reception, logistics, and keeping the event running smoothly.
Working hours: approximately 07.00-15.00
Payment: €100

The Free Furniture Festival is organised together with the Municipality of The Hague and Platform Student & Stad, with furniture supplied by Schroeder, Kringloop Den Haag, RataPlan and HMS.
