The Hague Citymap

Laakkwartier and Spoorwijk

Near the city center is the district with a no-nonsense character. The neighborhood is in development. The Hague University and the ROC Mondriaan are important institutions in the area. They are the center of growing student life. Almost half of the residents are between 20 and 45 years old. In the neighborhood you will also see many cultures. Student housing is offered by Staedion in Complex Asstraat (www.staedion.nl/ik-wil-huren/studentenwoning.).

The Goeverneurlaan is the central axis of this district. Here you will find shops, supermarkets and restaurants in an area built according to the architecture of Dutch architect Berlage. There are more and more entrepreneurs who focus on students and other young residents living in this part of The Hague. By bike you are in no time in the city center. For relaxation, visit the Hof van Heden, a beautiful city garden.

Regentessekwartier

A young district (the average age is about 35 years) that is attractive to students because of the possibilities of renting a room. Behind wide roads with stately mansions are narrow streets with more simple homes. There is limited public space and relatively little public green. The vast majority of residential properties in the neighborhood consist of apartments (87%). The rest is single-family house.

Zeeheldenkwartier

The Zeeheldenkwartier is one of the hottest city districts of The Hague. Close to the city center, this is the neighborhood where you can find many shops, restaurants and cafés. Sunny squares and beautiful art nouveau buildings. No wonder, therefore, that Zeeheldenkwartier is also popular with students. The main shopping streets are Prins Hendrikstraat, Zoutmanstraat, Piet Heinstraat and Anna Paulownastraat.
