High energy costs

This website (English) can be your starting point to see what you could do to save costs and where to turn for specific help. More information and tips about energy, heating and heated public places in The Hague: denhaag.nl/energie (Dutch).

Helpdesk Money matters

Are you having trouble making ends meet because of the higher energy costs? Or do you have questions about money or, for example, your health insurance? Come by or make an appointment with the Helpdesk Geldzaken (Dutch). Your advisor will help you see where you can save, which facilities or arrangements you are entitled to and what the bottlenecks are in your finances. This free service from the municipality of The Hague has 36 locations in The Hague. 

Youth Information Point (Jongeren Informatie Punt)

Are you 12 to 26 years old and do you live in The Hague? Then you can contact the JIP for free information, advice and help. About money matters, but also about care, living and working. Everything is confidential and even anonymous if you want. We have only one goal: to help you! You can contact the JIP with all your questions. Make an appointment via the website or come by.

Het Juridisch Loket (The legal counter)

On the website of Het Juridisch Loket (Dutch) you will find legal information, tips and sample letters. Among other things about living and neighbours, work and income, debts and debt collection. Do your income and savings fall below a certain limit? Then they can also help you personally.

Rechtswinkel070 for accessible legal advice

Do you need help or advice with legal issues, tax returns, allowances or submitting a notice of objection? Then as a student you can contact the Rechtswinkel070 (Dutch). Students of the Social Legal Services and Social Financial Services programs of Inholland University of Applied Sciences are available to give you free advice and support. Saldobaas

The Saldobaas app is a handy tool to get an overview of your finances. Saldobaas (Dutch) helps you to keep a close eye on your budget. With Saldobaas you become the boss of your own money! The app teaches you how to budget and offers personal help with making a financial overview. Balance boss is available in the App Store or via Google Play.
